Check out 29 Latest Game Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)
Everyone's beloved pizza-eating heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's publisher, the game's creators, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special event hosted at NYCC. Could this be a exciting new set or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.
Take a look below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with key context. Everything mentioned here releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.
Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards
Before diving into the many special decks and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.
Let's unpack a few shell-shocking details. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, where players can cheat big creatures into the game field when an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The key change here is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. Wizards also used this chance to refine the mechanic a little (Sneak counts as casting, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are we'll see Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.
“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “But in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”
Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with special art designed specifically for the set by TMNT original artist Kevin Eastman.
Oh, and, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play game cards outside of your main deck, so was I. Yet according to the developers, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.
Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:
Following the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they took care to ensure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the development for over a year and we were aware it would be in standard and which sets were going to be near it in Standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to make sure that there's synergy with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype focused on artifact cards.
“They mesh together to provide the pieces for a enjoyable Standard deck,” he added.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!
Following a decision to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your commander based on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone instead of just one). Take a look below:
The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise based on demand. Sources told that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an additional 37 TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures shown earlier. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon includes 37 lands.)
How will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and find out.
Standard Bundle (Standard Edition)
Typically, the company is selling a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:
- Nine Play Boosters
- Fifteen Foil basic lands
- Fifteen Regular basic lands
- Two Reference cards
- 1 Traditional foil promo card
- 1 Large life tracker
- One Card-storage box
Pizza-Themed Bundle
Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:
- Nine Standard Boosters
- One Premium Booster
- Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
- Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
- 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
- Two Reference cards
- 1 Oversized life tracker
- One storage box
For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with all-new Turtle-themed art. The team showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces onto a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.
The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Bundle
This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:
- Twelve Play Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
- 1 Collector Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
- Ninety Regular land cards (to build your deck)
- 10 Non-foil token cards
- 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)
Cooperative Play Set
Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic products aimed at beginners. In this case, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that let you and a friend team up to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.
The concept is that each Boss card gives unique powers to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
