It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their hitters to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it's been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you completely engage with the competition."

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was removed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this championship is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
